Sometimes, putting pen to paper doesn’t make magic – and as Planet Fitness’ suite of amenities grew, this quickly became the case. With lines building up behind clipboards to sign up, check in for appointments, and sign appropriate waivers – employees became overwhelmed.

When appointments began slipping through the cracks, equipment was double-booked and keeping track of liability logistics was on the line – they knew they had to find a solution to stay in shape.

THE SOLUTION: PART 1

A stronger solution.

Radianse developed a customized touchscreen kiosk with powerful capabilities and a simple user interface to streamline processes and cut the lines.

HOW IT WORKED FOR PLANET FITNESS MEMBERS:

Users are prompted to simply scan their member cards for access. From there, they can schedule a tan or massage, fill out necessary forms, and be on their way.
Through a member-card-based system, the club can see vital information such as membership level, payment status, amenity use history for legal purposes and more.
If a person’s membership level doesn’t give them access to the amenity they try to select, the system automatically upsells them for a higher membership.
THE SOLUTION: PART 2

Making data agile.

HOW IT WORKED FOR PLANET FITNESS:
All data was sent to an admin kiosk that is just as user friendly as the member’s interface. Club personnel could now pull usage trends, member visits and demographic data through reports generated with just the touch of a button.
This kept the club agile, allowing employees to pull reports for tanning regulations, as well as concept data-driven strategies for member and amenity growth.
THE RESULTS

A fitness club in peak shape.

With the new kiosk, member sign-in time increased per visit, instantly increasing member and employee satisfaction. As double-bookings and schedule blunders plummeted to an all-time low.

Planet Fitness knew this technology was a vital tool for their business’ success – implementing it to nearly 1,000 locations nationwide, including a custom cloud that allowed Planet Fitness to track data member between various clubs. With new transferable member data, regional locations were able to come together to strategize on amenity and equipment growth, with member sign-ups increasing overall.
