Productivity and Revenue at HIMSS07
Presentations will focus on improving patient flow and asset tracking
using real-time location systems
Andover, Mass., February 23, 2007 — Two executives from Radianse, Inc., healthcare’s foremost
provider of productivity solutions that optimize patient flow and resource management, will share their
knowledge and experience at the 2007 Annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society
(HIMSS) Conference & Exhibition. The largest and most prestigious event exploring the applications of
information technology in the healthcare setting, HIMSS07 will run from February 25 to March 1 at the
Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
“The speaker selection process for HIMSS is always highly competitive,” explained Mark Sakaniwa,
Radianse president and CEO. “The opportunity to give not one but two presentations at this event is proof
of the industry’s heightened awareness of the value of patient flow solutions leveraging real-time location
systems, as well as testament to the caliber of our executives’ expertise in this rapidly growing market.”
Vice president of software development Steve Weisner will be giving a talk entitled, “Technology +
Process Change = Improved Patient Flow.” His presentation will cover both available technology options
for improving patient flow and the workflows that demand closer scrutiny; experiences with patient flow
systems to date; and advice for organizations considering deployment of these systems, including ways to
predict the results.
Mike Dempsey, Radianse co-founder and chief technology officer, will share the real-life experiences of
hospitals nationwide that are using Radianse technology to track the movement of people and assets
throughout the hospital environment. His talk, entitled, “Reality Time: Experiences with Multi-Year
RFID Deployments,” will focus on the experiences Massachusetts General Hospital, Hannibal Regional
Hospital, Mississippi Baptist Hospital, St. Vincent’s Hospital (Alabama), the Hospital of the University of
Pennsylvania, Lancaster General Hospital, Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Harrisburg Hospital
(PinnacleHealth).
